Trump Criticizes Zelensky as Ukraine Refuses to Recognize Russian Control of Crimea

U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for blocking peace efforts, following Zelensky’s firm stance that Ukraine will not recognize Russian control over Crimea.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump said that a peace deal was “very close” but claimed that Zelensky’s refusal to accept U.S. terms would only extend the war.

Earlier, Vice President JD Vance shared the U.S. proposal, which involves freezing current territorial boundaries. Ukraine, however, has consistently rejected giving up Crimea, which was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.

Vance added that both sides would likely need to give up some territory. However, the U.S. has not provided clear details on what that would look like.

When asked about recognizing Russian sovereignty over Crimea, Trump said he was focused on ending the war, not choosing sides.

“I just want a deal done,” he said.

Accepting Russian control of Crimea would be politically unacceptable for Zelensky and would go against international laws that prohibit changes in borders by force.

“There’s nothing to negotiate. It’s against our constitution,” Zelensky said.

Meanwhile, Russia launched new attacks across Ukraine. In Kyiv, a missile and drone strike killed two people and injured 54 others, including children and a pregnant woman. Fires broke out from drone debris, trapping some residents under rubble. In Kharkiv, explosions were also reported. Earlier, nine people were killed when a drone hit a bus in Marhanets.

The exchange between Trump and Zelensky reflects their ongoing tense relationship.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said dealing with Russia has been easier than with Ukraine.

“I thought Zelensky would be easier to work with, but it hasn’t been,” he said, adding that he may meet with Zelensky at Pope Francis’s funeral.

On the campaign trail, Trump has repeatedly said he could end the war in one day. However, with nearly 100 days in office, peace remains out of reach.

“The president is frustrated,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “His patience is wearing thin.”

Vance warned that the U.S. may step back from peace talks if both countries don’t move forward. This echoed previous comments from Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The U.S. recently pulled out of a planned meeting in London to focus on talks in Moscow. The London meeting, involving the U.K., France, Germany, Ukraine, and the U.S., was meant to support a ceasefire, but its importance was reduced after Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff withdrew.

Instead, Trump’s envoy, Gen. Keith Kellogg, represented the U.S. in London, while Witkoff will visit Moscow for further talks with President Putin.

British officials were unclear about the reason for the last-minute cancellation, though the U.S. cited logistical challenges.

Ukrainian adviser Yuriy Sak told the BBC that Ukraine’s team in London had a clear goal: to secure a ceasefire and open the door for more negotiations.

Russia has increased attacks following a short pause over the Easter weekend. Although Putin announced a temporary ceasefire, U.K. Defence Secretary John Healey said there was no evidence Russia actually stopped its attacks.

“Putin talks about peace, but continues to stall in negotiations while intensifying the war,” Healey said.

Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022, hundreds of thousands have been killed or injured. Nearly seven million Ukrainians are now refugees. The conflict dates back to 2014 when Ukraine’s pro-Russian president was overthrown, and Russia took control of Crimea and backed armed groups in eastern Ukraine.

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and Children to Miss Royal Easter Service Again

Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will not join the royal family for the Easter service this year.

While King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals are expected to attend the traditional Easter Matins Service at Windsor Castle on Sunday, April 20, the Prince and Princess of Wales have decided to spend the weekend privately at their home in Norfolk with their children.

The couple has attended the service regularly in previous years but chose to skip last year’s event following Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis, which was publicly shared just weeks earlier. In January, she announced that her cancer is now in remission.

Their last Easter appearance with the royal family was in 2023, which marked Prince Louis’s first time attending. Prince George and Princess Charlotte made their Easter debut the year before.

The royal couple once shared that their children enjoy Easter with fun activities like an egg hunt and sweet treats. During a video call in 2020, Prince William joked about how much chocolate is eaten in their household during the holiday, and Princess Kate pointed out that he’s the one who eats most of it.

Recently, the Prince and Princess of Wales have stepped back from public duties to spend time with their children during their school break. During this time, the family reportedly went skiing in the French Alps.

Prince William and Prince George also traveled to Paris to watch their favorite soccer team, Aston Villa, play against Paris Saint-Germain on April 9. William described it as a special father-son moment, saying he wanted George to experience a major European match.

They were also seen at the rematch in Birmingham on April 15.

Over the years, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have gradually taken part in more royal events, including the family’s Christmas Day church service and Trooping the Colour, the official celebration of the monarch’s birthday in June.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward previously said that William and Kate are careful about their children’s public exposure. “They know there are times when the children need to be seen, but they are protective of their privacy the rest of the time,” she said.

She also noted the strong bond between the three siblings, saying, “They’re close in age, they all enjoy sports, and they share the unique experience of growing up in the public eye. That brings them even closer.”

Trump Administration Considers Banning Chinese AI Company DeepSeek

The Trump administration is reportedly planning new restrictions against DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial intelligence company, to limit its access to U.S. technology and users, according to The New York Times.

The proposed actions may include blocking sales of Nvidia’s advanced AI chips to DeepSeek and limiting access to its AI services in the U.S.

This move reflects growing tensions between the U.S. and China over technology, as the U.S. becomes more cautious about China’s rapid progress in AI.

Just this week, the White House tightened export rules for Nvidia’s AI chips going to China.

Concerns Over IP Theft and Market Disruption

DeepSeek launched its open-source model DeepSeek-V3 for only $6 million in January. However, it is now under suspicion of using U.S. intellectual property without permission.

OpenAI has accused DeepSeek of violating its terms by using its models without authorization. A U.S. congressional report also claims the company shared American user data with the Chinese government and manipulated content to support state messaging.

Scrutiny Grows as Global Investigations Begin

The report further claims that DeepSeek may have obtained as many as 60,000 Nvidia chips, including 20,000 that are subject to U.S. export controls. In connection with this, authorities in Singapore recently arrested three people for illegally shipping Nvidia chips, reportedly for DeepSeek.

Nvidia has declared that it complies with all U.S. laws and ships its products legally. The U.S. House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, however, is urging Nvidia to be more open about its semiconductor sales throughout Asia.

Data protection authorities in South Korea, France, Italy, and Ireland are also looking into DeepSeek for potential privacy law violations.

The business has not yet addressed the charges in a public statement.

Countries reach ‘historic’ agreement to tackle future pandemics, WHO says

The world has seen a massive development that will help people and the world the next time there is a pandemic or a COVID-like situation facing the planet.

Members of the World Health Organization came to a historic agreement to make sure that the world is all set and prepared for future pandemics. This has been no easy feat, and it took more than three years of super tough talks to get this agreement among various countries of the world.  The organization revealed early on Wednesday that the struggle was long and hard, and it took a while to get here. There was a lot of worry and concern after the COVID issue that the world was not on one page.

Legally Binding Agreement to Save Lives

This is a framework that will bind countries according to legal standards. Unlike the voluntary kinds of initiatives, such as pledges to support poor countries dealing with climate change for instance, this is much more different and is all set to be taken seriously.

The last time a pandemic caught the world off guard, millions of people were killed, panic gripped the world, and billions were under lockdown for years. In fact, during the last pandemic, the price of oil, for instance, went into negative territory. Oil was free, and people were looking to offload their holdings.

Businesses were able to make a killing off the backs of the ordinary in large part because of fear. There was no unity in order to try to deal with this.

Strong Framework for Cooperation

The proposal details a comprehensive plan with measures to make sure we do not have terrible future pandemics and improve global collaboration. This includes coming up with a pathogen access and benefit sharing mechanism and creating geographically diverse research labs among others.

The agreement also calls for a global supply chain and logistics system. This, while emphasizing better health system resilience and readiness. Last time the supply chai issues meant that the world economy was not able to get back on its feet for years. The chip shortage and other shortages led to a massive backlog of capacity that prevented businesses from being able to grow and expand.

Measure to Reduce Panic

The main concern is that nobody wants the world to panic like it did last time around.

“After more than three years of intensive negotiations, WHO member states took a major step forward in efforts to make the world safer from pandemics,” the health body stated in a press release for the media.

The proposal outlines steps to prevent future COVID-like situations and global teamwork in response to such global issues in the future.

The agreement is widely being considered to be a victory for the world health body, at a time when multilateral institutions such as the World Health Organization have been hit very hard in fact totally starved of funds by sharp reductions in United States foreign funding.

The United States of America, which did not want to join the early negotiations, left the negotiations this year after the word President in American history, Donald Trump, signed an executive order about two months ago pulling back the United States of America from the World Health Organization and the talks.

Next Steps for the Bill

The proposal will be voted on at the World Health Assembly policy meeting next month, the World Health Organization said in a statement.

“This is a historic moment and a show that with or without the US, countries are committed to working together and to the power of multilateralism,” Nina Schwalbe, the founder of global health think tank Spark Street Advisors, told Reuters.

Dubai is now among the 20 wealthiest global cities

The Emirate of Dubai Already well known across the world for great wealth and unmatched business, the city of Dubai has now finally officially entered the club of the world’s top 20 cities in terms of wealth, and now being home to the rich and famous.  Now home to 81,200 millionaires. This massive figure includes a total of 237 centi-millionaires (those with wealth greater than $100 million) and 20 official US dollar billionaires.

As per the ‘World’s Wealthiest Cities Report 2024’ published by Henley & Partners in cahoots with New World Wealth, Dubai climbed three places, ranking 18th in the whole world in terms of the number of rich people living in the city.

The report highlights Dubai’s constant and consistent long-term rise as a leading global center for growth investment, business, and high-net-worth people, cementing its place as a leading and top-notch destination for money and prosperity.

Dubai also topped Arab cities in the  wealth rankings, becoming one of the fastest-growing cities around the world for the rich and famous. It has secured the top spot in the Arab world and climbed from 21st to 18th place internationally on the list of the world’s super-rich cities for the year 2025, as per the latest report.

Over the past ten years or so, the city saw an impressive 102 per cent growth in the cohort of millionaires, making it the third-fastest growing city in the world for high net-worth individuals (HNWIs), behind only the Chinese tech and manufacturing hubs of Shenzhen and Hangzhou.

Dubai the New Geneva

The report revealed that Dubai attracted 8,700 new millionaires, only raising the total number of HNWIs in Dubai to 81,200 by the end of 2024, an increase from 72,500 in 2023.

The number of ultra-wealthy people in Dubai—those with a net worth is more than $100 million—rose to 237 by the end of last year, up from 212 in 2023, showing the emirate’s growing attractiveness as a global wealth hub.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi witnessed a significant increase in its millionaire population over the past ten years or so. Between 2014 and 2024, the capital showed an 80 per cent boost in the number of millionaires, hitting 17,800 by the end of the previous year.

Abu Dhabi is now home to about 75 centi-millionaires (individuals with a net worth of more than $100 million) and 8 US dollar billionaires, underscoring the emirate’s growing profile as a center for wealth creation and business.

Dubai is currently home to 237 centi-millionaires, while Abu Dhabi, with 75 centi-millionaires, leads the list of cities projected to see a significant increase in ultra-wealthy people over the next decade.

The number of wealthy guys with a net worth, which is north of about, say, $100 million in both emirates, is likely to double by 2034, driven by the region’s long-term economic growth, investor-friendly business policies, and strategic vision for the future.

This projected wealth boom shows a broader shift in the Middle East’s financial map as Dubai and Abu Dhabi improve their positions as global wealth hubs—bettered by favorable tax regimes, great infrastructure, and progressive economic reforms made at attracting high-net-worth people and international investors.

Conclusion

This is being helped by things like Dubai becoming a more attractive place to park their cash in a safe place. The Swiss, for instance, have shot themselves in the foot by doing things like freezing Russian assets.

The fact that leading Western capitals are no longer even pretending to be long term and neutral in their approach is what is bringing money into the Dubai property market.

People are buying apartments in Dubai and along with shops and offices in Dubai as ways to preserve their wealth to make sure that they do not face things like sanctions and other issues coming out of biased governments.

UAE: Pakistanis can now avail 5-year multiple-entry visas

Pakistanis are the second largest foreign group in the United Arab Emirates. The Pakistanis have been facing huge visa related issues for man years now. This is a great relief for those who live and work in the United Arab Emirates and are looking to continue to do so.

Now Pakistani tourists and frequent flyers are able to get a five year multiple entry tourist visa. This would help people who often go to Dubai to shop and for holiday. The change was announced by the Emirati Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi, earlier in the week.

According to Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs official portal, the United Arab Emirates is now going to be giving multiple-entry tourist visas for five years. The visa let the person to make several trips to the United Arab Emirates from the date that the visa is issued. All of this without the demand of a guarantor or a host inside the country.

The development was revealed during a meeting of Zaabi and Sindh Governor Karmran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s House, according to several media sources.

“Visa issues have been resolved; Pakistanis can get a five-year visa,” Zaabi said in a press release from the Governor House. The Ambassador Mr. Zaabi also went on to invite the governor to come to the visa centre at the Karachi consulate of the United Arab Emirates.

Tessori thanked the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Pakistan for his country’s investment in the land of Sindh, especially in Karachi. The ambassador applauded ongoing projects under the governor’s measures, the report said.

According to reports, the United Arab Emirates authorities have most recently increased the scrutiny of Pakistanis flying into the country because of their alleged involvement in crime and unlawful activities, for instance, begging. On December 23, a Senate panel was told that all Pakistani travellers to the United Arab Emirates needed to be vetted and verified by the relevant law enforcement authorities. Travel agents were also told about this in this regard.

In another meeting on January 9, the Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development was informed that there were “no restrictions on work visas” for Pakistanis who wish to travel to the United Arab Emirates. It further learnt that visas to allow people to travel to the United Arab Emirates had been “unofficially closed” and its government had concerns that Pakistanis, on visit visas, would go on to start begging in the United Arab Emirates, several media houses said said in  their reporting on the country.

On the other hand, during an interview with with a leading Pakistani media outlet back in November last year, the Consul-General of United Arab Emirates in Karachi, Dr Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, made the startling revelation that Pakistanis may be facing visa rejections due to negative social media activities. The United Arab Emirates is a pro Israel country and continues to persecute anyone who loves Gaza or is saying that Palestinians should not be mowed down like grass.

Of course this is something that the authorities are not going to admit openly. Alremeithi also stated that there had been complaints with regards to the conduct of some Pakistani social media influencers in the United Arab Emirates, especially on platforms particularly TikTok, resulting in frustration from the United Arab Emirates government and prompting harder visa regulations that have raised concerns for Pakistani travellers. He also cleared the air that there was no ban on United Arab Emirates visas for Pakistani nationals.

The new visa regime is a welcome relief for people. This would help more Pakistanis to come to the country to look for work and then eventually to move on to work visas. This is all great news.

Gaza Extermination- Two Months of Starvation

The worst humanitarian crisis of the 21st century has been unfolding live on our screens for more than one and a half years and continues to do so unabated. The world continues to look on as students get deported, people get fired, and countries get bombed in defense of the worst ethnic cleansing since the Congo Free State of the 1880s.

Now, it has been months since the last trickle of food was stopped. The final solution to the Palestinian problem seems to be starvation and expulsion of millions, as openly advocated for by President Trump and Netanyahu.

The Israelis have given evacuation orders, and all the Gazans huddled there and then got bombed there, too. The largest open-air prison yard in the world continues to see slaughter on a scale not seen in any recent wars.

Since the 18th of March, the Israeli military has managed to displace 400,000 people yet again. About 1400 or so are dead, including more than 500 or so children. All of this is in under a month and on the American taxpayer’s dime.

The excuses they give for mass starvation get more hilarious by the day, like saying that Palestinians are not doing a good job at distribution. That somehow justifies mass starvation.

Assem Al-Nabeeh, a spokesperson for the Gaza City local government, told the media that after the series of recent evacuation orders, “people are literally being displaced everywhere, on main roads, in public parks, near garbage dumps, in squares, and even in buildings that are on the verge of collapse.”

“Even before the latest evacuation orders, only 40% of the city had access to water,” Al-Nabeeh said. He said that around 175,000 tonnes of waste had piled up across the city.

The senior OCHA official working in Gaza, Jonathan Whittall, said earlier in the week that a “war without limits” was rolled out in Gaza. In a report released Friday, OCHA stated: “Gaza faces renewed risk of hunger and malnutrition as the full cargo blockade, now entering the second month, almost halts all flour distribution and shuts all subsidized bakeries.”

The World Food Programme (WFP) stated on Thursday that all of the 25 or subsidized bakeries across Gaza had shut down because of a shortage of cooking gas and flour. It went on to say that more than one million people were under fed in March, and while the provisioning of hot meals was continuing, present “supplies will last two weeks maximum.”

The Israelis claim that“ a “structured monitoring and aid entry mechanism” to stop Hamas from getting them and to be “neutral and impartial.”

They said a new system would  “support aid organizations, enhance oversight and accountability, and ensure that assistance reaches the civilian population in need, rather than being diverted and stolen by Hamas.”

This system can only be rolled out once Israel stops fighting.

WFP says that around 89,000 tonnes of food are stuck outside Gaza, while food scarcity inside is driving up prices in a massive way. A bag of wheat flour is now 450% more than it was a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, OCHA said access to water continues to be “severely constrained” – with two-thirds of Gazan families unable to get six liters (around 200 fluid ounces) of drinking water they need daily. The water supply improved in

The sanitation situation remains very bad. “Sanitation conditions across the Gaza Strip remain alarming,” OCHA said, with makeshift displacement areas on the beach filled with fleas and mites.

‘Massacre of Palestinians’

Trump is giving the Israelis an open playing field.

Gavin Kelleher of the Norwegian Refugee Council stated at the end of last month that “more than a million people remain in dire need of tents in Gaza.” However, his group had “almost nothing left to distribute despite still seeing these massive forced transfers happening every day.”

“Many people, with no alternative shelter, are staying in structurally unsound and damaged buildings, where incidents of buildings collapsing on top of men, women, and children continue to be recorded,” Kelleher added.

UNICEF said, “again been plunged into a cycle of deadly violence and deprivation.”

UNICEF says it and other agencies “have been unable to provide clothing and other essential items even to the most vulnerable of displaced children who only have the clothes they are wearing.”

Trump Tariffs to Crash American Economy

An economist told Nouba News that President Donald Trump’s 10% tariffs on Australia will hurt Americans who love beef from the outback. These measures are very likely to crash the entire global economy. Leading economists reckon that Trump does not have a clue as to what he is doing.

The quick onset of dementia, coupled with his historic unpredictability, is making things worse.

“I think this is a much bigger day for Americans who eat hamburgers than it is for Australia’s economy,” he told a leading media outlet.

“If they now want to pay more for it… That’s a ‘them’ problem, not an Australia problem.”

But he warned that the US is shooting itself in the foot.

“The US has just shown itself to be an unreliable partner,” he said.

Trump Playing Poker with the Economy

An analyst has compared President Donald Trump’s tariffs to betting on “a global poker playing table,” warning of terrible fallout from these.

“He is using the US consumer market as this enormous chip on the global poker playing table of the economy,” Rana Foroohar, CNN’s international economic analyst, said.

“It is a high-stakes game,” she said, and it would batter markets hard.

Foroohar said it would help him win votes among workers back home, but from an economic standpoint, it is bad news for everyone. It is in line with Trump’s style to shock and destroy to maximum media effect.

Europe is also waking up to smell the roses that, after 80 years, Uncle Sam is telling them that they are on their own. There is nothing that they can expect from America.

The analyst also said that, unlike last time when he was more China-focused, this time he was just going all out against everyone.

“This is very different. This is Trump saying I am going to overturn the Bretton Woods system. I am going to overturn globalization as we’ve known it,” she said, talking about a 1944 agreement that set the foundations of the post-World War II economic system.

“I think it will certainly be the defining moment of his presidency. I’m hoping it doesn’t push the US and the world into recession,” she added.

Taiwan calls Trump’s 32% tariff “highly unreasonable and regrettable”

President Donald Trump’s tariffs are “highly unreasonable and regrettable,” Taiwan’s cabinet says, as it vowed to try to lobby its way out of them. In the Trump era, other than maybe Israel, nobody else seems to have much of a voice.

Taiwan, a major exporting economy and electronics manufacturer, was hit with 32 percent tariffs by the Trump administration. However, its vital semiconductor sector was exempted.

Why not semiconductors? Home to the world’s biggest contract chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC), the island is a major link in the global technology supply chain for giants such as Apple and Nvidia.

The tariff rate has been set at a whim. It makes no sense to charge such high tariffs.

Taiwan has seen a growing trade surplus. A big part of that is the demand from the United States for things like AI-related products, chips, and so much more.

“This reflects Taiwan’s huge contribution to the US economy and national security, but it was used as a reason to subject Taiwan to high tariffs,” the cabinet said.

“The tariffs do not reflect the actual economic and trade situation between Taiwan and the United States, and it is unfair to Taiwan.”

Taiwan’s cabinet will try to get a better deal. However, there is little hope for being able to achieve much out of this.

Other countries and regions, including South Asia, have also been hit badly by these tariffs. Sri Lanka, for instance, which has been reeling post default, is set to get swamped with a massive 44 percent tariff. Pakistan got a 29 percent rate slapped on it. India has seen a rate of 26 percent.

Australia, the UK, and some non-EU countries have the best at 10 percent. They are likely going to be able to better dominate trade with the United States as their goods become cheaper in comparison to other countries with higher rates.

Elon Musk Humiliated in Wisconsin Election

Liberal Susan Crawford defeated conservative Brad Schimel, winning a 10-year term and retaining the 4-3 liberal Supreme Court majority in a state bitterly divided between a Democratic governor and Republican legislature, where the nominally nonpartisan high court has often functioned as a third, tie-breaking partisan body.

Wisconsin rebuffs Trump

Stakes were already high, with control over the Supreme Court in a critical presidential battleground on the line in Wisconsin.

Neither were on the ballot, however Badger State voters were weighing in on Trump (who won Wisconsin during 2016, lost it in 2020 and smashed it last year in 2024, all by tiny margins), Musk, and their performance so far.

Musk’s millions

Aided by Musk’s millions, along with other plutocrats across the aisle, funding the most expensive legal race in the country

The tech billionaire, along with aligned groups, threw in some $20 million into the race and thrust himself into the midst of the election with an appearance.

“There are about 200,000 voters who voted for Donald Trump last November, who just historically don’t vote in spring elections,” Scott Walker told the media.

With Crawford’s win, liberals will keep [ their 4-3 advantage on the leading court and have the last say on key issues faced by the justices, ranging from abortion to voting laws – and potentially – redrawing congressional maps that right now give Republicans in the state 6 of the 8 House seats.

“He’s a good foil,” a Democratic strategist stated about Musk. “Trump is a good foil in many ways, but at the end of the day, a lot of people voted for Trump. Nobody voted for Elon Musk, especially the outsized role he has played.”

Wisconsin proves it’s a purple state.

Schimel’s loss is a loss of face for Trump – and an even costlier humiliation for Musk. But it’s too soon to say what it spells for Wisconsin’s political future.

For years, Wisconsin Democrats have worked to claw their way back to power after being hammered by former Republican Gov. Scott Walker. In recent years, those efforts have started to bear fruit.

GOP’s growing margins

“We have a slim margin. We don’t want to take any chances. We don’t want to experiment,” Trump stated last week.

Losses in Florida would have ignited full-blown panic for Republicans on Capitol Hill — and made Johnson’s job of keeping together an ideologically weak caucus even more difficult.

The GOP averted that potential catastrophe.

However, the Republican Party continues to remain on edge.

UAE issues new polymer Dh100 banknote, in circulation from today

On Monday, the UAE Central Bank, which is officially known as the Central Bank of the UAE or CBUAE rolled out a brand new 100 dirham banknote. This is made using a sophisticated kind of polymer. Also, it has advanced security and design features.

The new banknote started hitting the market yesterday. The government has made sure that the bank notes are immediately available to all and acceptable for all retail transactions. Exchange companies, along with banks, have already readied their machines for the notes. They have also updated their note-counting machines to make sure that there are no discrepancies in accepting the polymer notes vs. the old existing paper ones. The value of all currency has been legal tender since 1971. Before that, currencies were backed by the dollar and the dollar by gold. Since then, it has been fiat, legal tender.

Great Color Combinations

The new design is made using different kinds of red. The existing colour combinations have been maintained by the Central Bank.

Also, the design includes the national branding of the United Arab Emirates. The use of inscriptions and drawings was done with the latest and most cutting edge of printing technologies.

Stay up to date with the latest news. Follow Nouba News.

On the front side of this new 100 dirham bank note you have the Um Al Quwain National fort. This icon of the United Arab Emirates connects the present of the country with the desert past of nomadic living, camels and wide open sky.

The back side shows the Port of Fujairah. This is one of the largest and most popular in the country. Even though it is not as well known as its more popular counterpart in Dubai, it is still a great icon of the UAE. Also, the bank notes highlight something that most expats are not aware of. The UAE is not all about oil. Abu Dhabi is oil-rich. The other Emirates, including Dubai, are built on commerce, ports, and trading. Contrary to popular belief, a Sheikh in Dubai is more likely or not connected to things like real estate than having a fortune rooted in the fossil fuel industry.

Etihad Rail on the notes

What is more, the 100 dirham bill also includes the Etihad Rail. This is the railway network of the United Arab Emirates that links all the major seven Sheikhdoms that make up the UAE with the rest of the GCC or Gulf Cooperation Council. The railway links connect the country together. The most reliable way to move people and goods around the country and the wider GCC region continues to be the country’s railway network, which is becoming more important by the day.

The aim of these new bank notes is to tell the Emirari story to the world. This is the third issuance and a part of the National Currency Project. The UAE today is at the crossroads of east and west and connects people from all over the world, be it through business, international workers and of course the national carriers Etihad and Emirates.

Better Security Features

To enhance consumers’ confidence and combat counterfeiting, the Dh100 banknote incorporates advanced security features, including modern technologies such as SPARK Flow DIMENSIONS and multi-colored security chip technology known as KINEGRAM COLORS.

Polymer banknotes are more durable and sustainable than traditional paper banknotes, lasting two or more times longer in circulation. In this issue, the CBUAE maintained its consideration of all banknote users by adding prominent Braille symbols to help blind and visually impaired consumers identify the banknote’s value.

The Central Bank of the UAE won awards for having the best banknotes in 2025 and 2023. The designs have great security features to make sure that these are not able to be fake.
