Peshawar Zalmi Accused of Stealing PSL X Anthem From Famous Netflix Show

Peshawar Zalmi has found itself in hot water because it seems to have plagiarised its anthem from a Netflix show. The series Arcane has been a big hit. The team has been accused of a serious level of intellectual theft. This is something that the fans are not very likely to mind. They do not care as long as the team plays to win.

The song was released before the Pakistan Super League officially hit its 10 year mark. The short fil they released, The Journey Home, and the dust of war both have fans swooning over it. Everything was going well before people started to figure out that this was not really creative or original. Instead, they had simply stolen stuff from  Arcane‘s “To Ashes and Blood.”

Netflix Binge Watchers Alert

This stuff came to light when people figured out that the super cool song The Journey Home was too much like the Arcane track. The super left fans swept off their feet as Aima Baig performed along with the likes of Wajid Layaq and Bilal Avaz. Now, when that happened, the keyboard warrior generation flew into a rage and was all over social media about their beef with the track. They were expecting better than a plain old rip-off from someone else’s creative juices.

However, what they got is a decent pirate version. Now, that is not to say that they did not try to do something on their own. They did try to bring in Pakistan Super League air to the whole thing. However, Arcane fans are up in arms and would have protested on the streets if it was not so hot.

Among the diehard fans of cricket too, this work has not gone down well. How could you play fair when you do not even make your own unique music? This and other concerns continue to haunt Peshawar Zalmi and other teams in the Pakistan Super League tournament this year.

However, out in Peshawar the concern is not about the thing being taken from Netflix or elsewhere. The main reason is most of them are too busy watching the PSL matches to worry about plagiarism, rip offs and other things.

At Nouba News, we believe that ripping off work from other people is not a very good thing to do. However, most fans do not care and will continue to not care.

The Pakistan Super League is in full swing, and Peshawar Zalmi is all set to dominate the matches this year as well.

The Pakistan Super League continues to dominate the airwaves in Pakistan.

Peshawar’s batting innings did not get back on its feet after Mohammad Amir got Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam out for a zero in the very first over of the chase.

However, it was new, brand-new guy Abrar Ahmed who did their best so that Peshawar never got the chance to recover as he knocked out the wickets of both their star player Mohammad Haris, along with the hard-to-handle Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the fourth over of the match.

Peshawar Zalmi All Set to dominate

He ended up with results of 4-42 and came back to clean house, making a mess of Mohammad Ali’s wickets with a great wicket haul to get the core wicket of the innings.

After the contest, he said he was a fan of the love with which he played in the powerplay and went on to say, “The captain turned to me and told me to go for wickets.”

There was brief resistance by the Peshawar batsmen when Saim Ayub, along with Hussain Talat, got to play together at the crease for a 63-run play for the third wicket. This team at the crease was destroyed by spinner Usman Tariq when he bowled Hussain out for 35.

HBL-PSL X Season Kicks Off Today

The Pakistan Super League’s one decade anniversary season (PSL X) starts on Friday (today) in Rawalpindi Stadium, with anticipation at an all-time high, Nouba News team reported.

Defending champions Islamabad United and long time rivals Lahore Qalandars will square off in what ought to be an exciting opening match that sets the tone for an hotly contested tournament. In what promises to be one of the most thrilling Pakistan Super League seasons ever, both sides are full of hope and confidence and are all set to outperform each other.

Though upbeat due to their last season’s victory, Islamabad United is not letting anything get to their head. The explosive all-rounder leader Shadab Khan expressed confidence in his team’s capacity and desire for victory.

“We are fully geared up to raise the bar even higher this season. After winning the title last year, we carefully evaluated our gaps and have made some smart additions. I believe this is our most balanced and explosive team yet,” said Shadab Khan.

Australia’s Ben Dwarshuis, a great left-arm pacer who is known to consistently reach speeds of more than 150 km/h, is one of the season’s noteworthy additions. His raw speed and hard style might change the course of United’s game. The addition of Australian superstar Darcy Short has greatly bolstered the team further.

Lahore Qalandars, on the other side, are not just going to play catch-up. With a side they think can take on any side on their day, Qalandars are all set to turn years of hard preparation into a win.

Daryl Mitchell is with the Qalandars, adding power to the middle order with his knack for reliability with the bat and keeping strong under pressure.

A star srudded opening ceremony before the beginning of playing on Friday will mark the start of this historic edition. PSL X is set to run from April 11 till May 18. The 34-match tournament has three-double headers set for April 12, 1 and May 10, while the remaining ones will be single headers held in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. The three-afternoon matches will begin at 4pm PST.

The six sides will also be butting heads to take home the $500,000 prize money set for the winners. At the same time the runners-up side will be awarded $200,000. Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, is due to host 13 matches which include the qualifier, elimination matches, and the May 18 final. Pindi Stadium will host 11 matches, on the other hand, Multan Stadium lastly National Stadium Karachi will witness five PSL X clashes each this season.

Babar Azam will be captaining the PSL 2017 champions, Peshawar Zalmi. Australia’s David Warner is now the fourth overseas player to captain the 2020 champions Karachi Kings.

Babar said: “This season we are focusing on what we missed out in the last couple of editions and not repeating the same mistakes. We have strengthened our core on both the bowling and batting front so that we don’t struggle at any stage of the game.”

Karachi Kings vice-captain Hasan revealed “in HBL PSL X we intend to play with aggression early on as powerplay is the key to increasing your chances of winning.”

Rizwan said . “Whoever wins the tournament will be a success for this country as the league has entered the 10th edition.”

Gladiators’ Saud stated: “The last few seasons haven’t been good for Quetta, and like all other teams, we have tried our best to assemble a quality squad. We look forward to playing well and entertaining the fans this time around.”

Shadab wen to say that Islamabad United was thrilled to play five home games at the Rawalpindi Stadium this time around and they looked forward to not just doing well in front of their fans but to give it their all out. “You will get to see a different Islamabad United outfit this season.”

Shaheen said: “One of the key goals for Lahore Qalandars throughout the HBL PSL has been developing and producing quality players, and we will stick to that goal in the 10th edition of the league as well.”

Virat Kohli Makes History

Virat Kohli Scripts History, Achieves Never-Done-Before Feat In T20 Cricket

Virat Kohli has just made history yet again by becoming the fastest batsman out of Indian to hit the coveted 13000 run mark in the T20 cricket format.  scripted history by becoming the fastest Indian batter to score 13000 T20 runs.

He hit this milestone just recently during the Indian Premier League season of 2025. The clash between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru played at the Wankhede Stadium in the city of Mumbai just yesterday.

The Mumbai Indians managed to achieve great results. A smashing sixer against Jasprit Bumrah left everyone excited.

The legend managed to get half a century off just 29 balls. It took Virat 386 matches to do this. The global record is held by Chris Gayle who managed to pull this off in 381 matches. This gret performance left the world stunned. He just proved that you should never count out Virat Kohli out of anything at all.

He is indeed a player who knows how to go above and beyond when it comes to delivering results that his team needs from him.

So how about the others who have managed to achieve this great and highly coveted rank.

13000 runs in Men’s T20 cricket (innings taken)

14562 – Chris Gayle (381)-  The Jamaican legend has the overall record in the field. He did it in 5 matches less than what Virat Kohli has managed to do.

13610 – Alex Hales (474) The British cricketing star Alex Hales also managed to achieve this feat but with 474 matches. Virat Kohli has done it much faster.

13557 – Shoaib Malik (487) The ex-husband of Indian tennis legend Sania Mirza is a sporting legend in his own right/ Shoaib Malik from Pakistan managed to hit 13000 in 487 matches during his long career.

13537 – Kieron Pollard (594) Another Caribbean classic to come out of Jamaica has been this guy. Absolutely phenomenal player. He is the last among the list of players that have managed to hit this coveted level.

13001* – Virat Kohli (386) of course the greatest Indian batsman in living memory has managed to hit this in the second least number of matches ever.

Jasprit Bumrah did well. He was back on the side of the Mumbai Indians after a long break due to a leg injury. As they say, shake a leg or break a leg and he just happened to break his.

The Mumbai Indians had the chance to pick if they wanted to bat or bowl first because they had won the toss. They chose to bowl against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This was indeed a match for the ages that fans are not going to forget about any time soon.

Jasprit Bumrah was back in form after going under the knife for treatment for his lower back which had not been doing too well. He was injured while touring down under in Sydney at the final fifth test of the Border Gvaskar Trophy series.

Rohit was also missing in action against the Lucknow Super Giants due to the fact that he had a bad knee.

The fact that they are now back in the game is a huge deal. It gave the Mumbai Indians just what they needed to push them over the top and to clinch a victory after a rather long bad spell of matches.

Hardik Pandya the much loved skipper of the Mumbai Indians wanted to bowl first. The reason he chose to do that is that the track looked nice and the dew was not expected at the time.

“When the wicket is good, it stays that way, and with dew, it could only get better,” said Pandya. The Mumbai Indians also seem to be confident of victory going forward.

Who do you think is going to win the Indian Premier League season this time around ? Let us know in the comments.

Can Bumrah Help MI Against RCB?

One of the running jokes of the IPL over its 18 seasons is that the Mumbai Indians are like a diesel engine; they are slow to start, but once they are in form, they do well. This usually takes them to like the end of the season in May before it hits them that they need to do something.

Bumrah is a great player. However, he cannot on his own fix the mess that is the Mumbai Indians team. In the last three matches out of four, for instance, their opening partnership did not cross into the third over. Other than Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians are not doing a half-decent job with their batting order.

Naman Dhir, for instance, cost the team a fortune. He did a good job last time around. However, in 2025 he is a burden on the team. He managed a terrible score of 24 off 46 balls. This would be a bad rate in test cricket. He is pulling this off in a 20-over format. That too against the Lucknow Super Giants who themselves seem out of luck most of the time.

Now Suryakumar Yadav has been in decent form, and for the Mumbai Indians his performance has been something of a consolation. Hardik Pandya has also not been living up to his name this season. There are serious concerns about the performance of the Mumbai Indians in their lower order.

Their lead coach did not seem too concerned, though  “I want to be more flexible with the batting order given where we are and the talent and skill we have,” he said in Mumbai a few days ago. “As long as we have productivity from those guys in different positions, it will give us an advantage going forward.”

Mumbai Indians’ opponents on Monday, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, are one of the form sides thus far into this season. They are coming off a defeat to to Gujarat Titans at home. However, have won both their other games. That run has included a win at Chepauk for the first time since 2008. RCB have beaten MI only three times at the Wankhede, and haven’t done so even once during the past decade or so. With a unit in strong starting-season form, with four of their players having already hit half-centuries, this could be their greatest chance of ending that run.

Quotes

“The modern-day [cricket] is so tactical. We keep changing line-ups to match certain bowling line-ups. I don’t see how different [retiring a batter out] is. As a batsman, I have had times when I struggle to get through. [Tilak] batted well for us in the three games, built partnerships, and got us to situations we needed to. I still value that. He was trying and wasn’t able to get going, so I felt I decided to throw someone else to get those two hits.”

MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene explains his decision to retire Tilak Varma against LSG

“Rajat is aggressive, and he backs himself to play his role. I watch these guys bat during the game, and I love watching them bat. He’s very calm as a captain. He seems well-planned with his decisions and he’s building on a great environment in this team, so it’s great fun to be a part of.”

LSG vs MI head-to-head record, IPL 2025: What to Expect

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), right now at the sixth place on the points table, take on the super-charged Mumbai Indians (MI) later today on their home turf in Lucknow.

The Super Giants are not looking so gigantic after being crushed in their last performance. The Rishabh Pant-led team suffered a resounding defeat to Punjab Kings on their home ground, handing them their second season victory. Taking on the five-time champions, the Mumbai side, the Lucknow Super Giants will try to get what would be their second win of the season.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians started the season with back-to-back defeats; however, they did manage to score a win over defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders. This has helped somewhat in their efforts to get their groove back on track. The Hardik Pandya-led side right now finds themselves in fifth spot in the standings, and will be hoping to carry on their winning momentum further into this epic IPL season.

LSG vs MI Match Details

Match Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians, 16th match of the Indian Premier League season 2025

Venue: Ekana Cricket Stadium, the great city of Lucknow

Date & Time Friday, April 4, 2025, 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time

Live Broadcast and Streaming Details: Sports18/Star Sports Network, JioHotstar, where you can watch it on both their app and their website.

Ekana Cricket Stadium Pitch Report

The Ekana Stadium pitch has a total red soil surface, well known for the pace and bounce. Despite being a top-scoring venue, its long boundaries give some respite for the bowlers. The pitch has a great grass covering, giving minimal seam movement but giving the players some turn with bounce for the spinners.

Traditionally, the surface used to be slow, making it challenging for batters as the ball does not hit the bat easily. Spinners do great here, using the grip and turn to their benefit, while pacers with variations can do great. Dew is unlikely to play a serious role. The team that bats first is going to have a good chance in order to carry the day.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians: Likely Best Performers

Probable Best Batter: Suryakumar Yadav

Star Mumbai Indian’s top player, Suryakumar Yadav, could be the best batsman on the pitch in today’s game versus the Lucknow Super Giants. Yadav is doing great and is back in form after a set of disappointing matches ahead of the competition. In three games, he has been able to hit 104 runs, including a handy cameo of 27* versus the Kolkata Knight Riders, to guide Mumbai Indians to their first victory of the series. The right-handed batsman would be keen on putting up a super awesome performance in the match today.

Probable Best Bowler: Digvesh Singh Rathi

Lucknow’s bowler Digvesh Singh Rathi could be the top bowler in the side’s fourth match of the season. With five wickets in three clashes, Rathi has been in epic form, and his spell might go a long way in pushing his side to victory. Notably, the 25-year-old will love the wicket-favoring bowlers and will look to make the best of it.

South Africa vs New Zealand

South Africa vs New Zealand All Set for  2nd semi final Champions Trophy 2025

India beat Australia in a nail-biter yesterday, and today is the second semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand. The winner is going to face India in the world cup final.

How has New Zealand’s tournament shaped up?

New Zealand will be wary of South Africa’s first-choice bowling unit as Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen didn’t play in the tri-series but can trouble batters on any pitch.

New Zealand romped to two big wins against host Pakistan at Karachi and against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi as they were not only clinical with the bat and ball, but took some splendid catches in the field. However, despite excelling in all the departments in Pakistan, their batters looked vulnerable against spinners, with nine wickets falling to slow Indian bowlers on Sunday.

How has South Africa’s Champions Trophy run shaped up?

“The nerves are a little bit less because we have a little bit more experience in the semifinal department now,” Klaasen said. “We just had some bad luck here and there and one or two games that didn’t go our way, but we’ve been playing good cricket.

“It’s the rewards that we’re seeing now. The boys are holding a little bit more composure in the bigger moments in the game.”

How will New Zealand respond to defeat by India?

“We are lucky. We’ve had some experience playing here in the tri-series before the tournament actually kicked off,” Stead told reporters on a video call.

“We’ve got some on-ground experience and I guess some positive emotions to fall back on the way we played here as well.”

“We haven’t been down to the ground yet to see if we’re on a used wicket or not, but generally these wickets are pretty good batting surfaces,” he added.

“They don’t bounce too much.

“South Africa are a very, very good side and we’re going to have to play right near our best to beat them,” he added.

When and where will the final be played?

The final is going to be played in Dubai on the 9th of March.

South Africa Team,

Squad: Temba Bavuma is the captain, Tony de Zorzi, Marco Jansen, the wickeykeeper is Heinrich Klaasen, then there is Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, the other wicket keeper is Ryan Rickelton , Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs and lastly, Rassie van der Dussen

New Zealand Team

Squad: Mitchell Santner is the captain, then we have Michael Bracewell, along with Mark Chapman, the wicketkeeper is Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, the other wicketkeeper is Tom Latham, then we have Daryl Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Glenn Phillips, the talented Rachin Ravindra along with Ben Sears, Nathan Smith, Kane Williamson, and Will Young.

India and Australia face off in Semi Final

“[T]here’s nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent.”

The words of Pat Cummins, even though he will not be in match. The biggest cricket news today is the semi final showdown in Dubai.

An Indian cricket team champions trophy win would be a huge boost for star players. However, both sides are very strong.

India and Australia have a pretty even win ratio. Both sides have won twice each since 2011. India won in the 2018 and 2023 World Cups. The indian side lost the 2023 final and 2015 semi finals to the Aussies.

The Australian side has been in better form in the past. The Indian team has been doing great. However, there are big questions. The legend Virat Kohli for instance has been around for an insane amount of time. In fact he has just played his 300th ODI. Also other players like Ravindra Jadeja and Rhit Sharma are from a by gone era. How much longer can they do will in ODis. When will they get too old and drop in performance? Maybe this Champions Trophy?

They all want to go out with a bang and would love to take home another. Kohli won the 2011 World Cup and all three oldies werre key in the 2013 champions trophy as well. However, they are going to face an Australian team that even though has seen better days continues to be dominant.

The match is today at 1pm UAE time and India vs Australia live will be streamed across multiple platforms.

Pitch and conditions

The day is clear and sunny and the temperature is at about 29 degree Celsius. The pitch is such that it will slow down and favours the batting side and it is expected that the side that wins the toss will choose to bat first.

The run rate here over the past several matches shows that the runs slow down. Also, there is little to new dew and the conditions are very dry. At Nouba News we expect that the side to bat first will have the advantage.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh, Champions Trophy 2025 Highlights: Game called off in Rawalpindi

Pakistan and Bangladesh were unable to face each other due to heavy rains and downpour in the city of Rawalpindi which forced the match to be called off. This following the defeat to India has been nothing but bad news for the Pakistan Cricket Board which had finally been able to host a major tournamant after about three decades.

The Pakistani team has come under fire from cricketing greats in the country from the likes of Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Ramiz Raja and many other cricketing greats who have lashed out at the player selection and the leadership of the team which they  say has not been up to the task when it comes to champions trophy 2025

This was supposed to be the last of the group stages for both sides. Pakistan has been knocked out of the competition already even though they are the hosts.

The last time Pakistan hosted a major international cricket event was back in 1996. That time was the ICC Cricket World Cup. The star players of the team are under intense pressure. Babar Azam the cricket captain and major players like Shaheen Shah Afridi have not been able to live to the expectations of fans and cricket officials alike. They might even be fired from their jobs.

The match against India which Pakistan lost by a stunning margin and also saw Virat Kholi getting a century is what has pushed the team out of the tournament.

In fact the team was not able to win a single match during the whole competition. This is even worse considering the fact that this was their first hosting chance in a generation. The matter has reached the highest levels of the Pakistani government and strict action is likely.

India Smashes Pakistan Champions Trophy

India beats Pakistan yet again and that too by a massive six wickets. It seems that the days of India and Pakistan being rivals and having those nail-biting matches are a bygone era of sporting history. Now there is just nothing to compare to the two countries in their sporting prowess.

The century from the legend Virat Kohli sealed an impressive Indian victory over Pakistan yet again. Pakistan did win the toss and tried for an initial target for at least 280. However, Indian bowlers crushed those dreams and the entire team was down and out at only 241.
